College Preparation Admissions
Some Tips on Applying
- Try to identify the schools that you want to
apply to well before the Fall semester of your senior year. This will give you
ample time to look through the specific requirements each school has.
- For schools that you are applying to, it is a
good idea to browse through their application early so you can make sure you
meet all the requirements the school has for applicants (eg. What type of SAT
II exams you need to take).
- When you choose which schools to apply to,
make sure to strike a balance between applying to schools you have a good shot
of getting in to and those schools that are more difficult to get in to. Don’t
be afraid to apply to the best places, but make sure you have some backups
that you’re confident of getting in to just in case.
- Some schools have Early Action and Early
Decision policies. You can apply early and get a response early on whether you
got in or not. Some schools require you to enroll if you apply early. If you
are applying to such a school, make sure to check what the school’s early
application policy is and to be sure you really want to go to that school if
you do Early Decision.
